Before copyediting, the paragraphs’ structure were out of synch, and the characterization was flat. The paragraphs also had grammatical errors that needed correcting.

After copyediting, the paragraph’s were structured in a way that advanced the narrative and that simply made more sense. Other edits drew the reader into the character’s story and made the character more robust.
